assalamu'alaikum good viewers..
in this opportunity, I would like to write the similary and differences from the last journal and the new journal I have now.
the similarities :
the equation between these two journals lies in the contents of the introduction, which are both looking for strategies carried out by the teacher to improve listening skills to students. And the purpose is the same, because the author wants students to be more competent in their listening abilities.
the differences :
journal 1 (LISTENING: THE MOST DIFFICULT SKILL TO TEACH)
Method : in this journal have a method, it is a Bottom-Up and top-down processing skills.
This aims of this method is to get the students to listen to a recorded piece of authentic conversation from the middle and use referential clues from the discourse and background noise to infer information regarding its setting, context, mood and relationship between the interlocutors. Each of these pieces of information can act as indicators to trigger background knowledge.
For example, should the setting be identified as one of a school, and the relationship as one between a
teacher and a student, previous experience of typical language and conversational subjects that are presented in an academic setting could help students to infer any impasses in the spoken dialogue.

journal 2 (A Study on Listening Strategies Instructed by Teachers and Strategies
Used by Students)
Used by Students)
Method : the method used in this journal is students’ listening strategy questionnaires and teachers’
listening strategy questionnaires. The contents of the two questionnaires are broadly similar but the methods of questionnaire are different. The questionnaire includes two parts: the first part is the background questionnaire, the second part is the listening strategy questionnaire. The questionnaire uses five level methods.
This study adopts the method of questionnaire survey and makes the SPSS statistical analysis of the data. All the conclusions are based on the data. The study mainly investigates the following five questions:
1) What is overall situation of non-English majors’ application of listening strategies?
2) What are the strategies the students commonly use and seldom use?
3) What is the overall situation of teachers’ instructing listening strategies?
4) What are the strategies teachers often instruct and what are the strategies teachers often neglect?
5) What is relationship between the strategies teachers instruct and the strategies the students use?
